FAQs
Common questions about Family Sponsorship.
Who can I sponsor?
Canadian citizens and permanent residents can sponsor certain close family members — typically a spouse or common-law partner, dependent children, and parents or grandparents. Eligibility for both sponsor and sponsored person is set in IRCC’s program instructions.
What if PGP intake is closed?
The Parents and Grandparents Program intake is limited and opens periodically. The Super Visa is an alternative for parents and grandparents that does not require a PGP invitation.
